Background
Bosch is a globally recognized brand in electronics, automotive, and industrial equipment, with stringent operational standards and a commitment to efficiency across all its facilities. Their Taiwan Regional Distribution Center handles a diverse range of shelf-stored items that require precise, high-throughput picking operations to serve downstream manufacturing and retail demand.
Challenge
Bosch's existing manual picking process was struggling to keep pace with order volumes and SKU complexity. The team needed an automated solution that could handle shelf-stored items with high bin density, deliver fast goods-to-person performance at picking workstations, and integrate cleanly into an existing facility footprint without a full-scale redesign.
The solution also needed to meet Bosch's exacting quality and reliability standards — a requirement that made vendor selection highly competitive.
Solution
Rainbow Dynamics deployed the RackBot™ Goods-to-Person (G2P) system — a solution combining intelligent navigation robotics with high-density bin storage. RackBot units autonomously retrieve storage bins and deliver them directly to ergonomic picking workstations, eliminating the need for pickers to travel through aisles.
Six GroundBots handled horizontal transport within the system while five RackBots managed vertical retrieval, all coordinated through Rainbow's intelligent warehouse control software.
