Rainbow Dynamics has established a Japanese subsidiary

Rainbow Dynamics Japan, the Japanese subsidiary of British logistics robotics company Rainbow Dynamics, held a commemorative party at the Imperial Hotel on July 6.

The representative of the Japanese subsidiary is Sumio Tanaka, founder of WMS “FRAMEWORX” and CEO of logistics consulting firm LogiDyne. According to him, the Japanese corporation was registered in late June. Going forward, we will integrate next-generation automated warehouse system (AS/RS) technology with expertise in logistics consulting to support Japanese companies in promoting logistics DX and begin full-scale expansion into the Japanese market.

The logistics industry is facing an unprecedented period of transformation due to the expansion of the e-commerce market, increasing supply chain complexity, severe labor shortages, and the “Logistics 2024 problem.” Logistics centers are required to simultaneously offer high storage efficiency, rapid shipping response, stable quality, and sustainable operations. AS/RS (Automated Storage and Retrieval System: automated warehouse systems) is accelerating globally. The company’s main solutions are as follows:

①4D Pallet Shuttle:
A pallet automated warehouse system that simultaneously achieves high-density storage and high throughput by freely moving forward, left, right, and up-and-down with a four-way shuttle. It can flexibly accommodate equipment expansions and layout changes, adapting to future changes in logistics volume.

[Case Study (1)] Introduced at a U.S. crossdock center operated by one of the world’s largest e-commerce companies. Achieved approximately 50% increase in storage capacity, approximately double pallet handling capacity, approximately 70% reduction in forklift count, and approximately 40% reduction in on-site workforce.
[Case Study (2)] Introduced at Daitou Logistics’ RDC (Unicharm Products) in Shanghai, China. Achieving both high-density storage and improved inbound/outbound capacity, improving overall operational efficiency at the center.

② RackBot (Goods-to-Person type AS/RS)
goods-to-person type AS/RS developed for logistics centers handling a wide variety of SKUs. RackBot, which moves inside the rack, and GroundBot, which transports the ground together, work together to eliminate the need for workers to walk, simultaneously improving productivity, quality, and training costs. Designed using standard racks, it achieves both high-density storage and flexible layout.

[Case Study] Adopted for Bosch’s omnichannel logistics center operated by Taiwan’s Nippon Express Group. Selected after comparative consideration with multiple global GTP solutions, contributing to reduced walking distance, improved SKU management accuracy, and standardized operations.

③ Independent WMS and WCS.
Developed proprietary WMS and WCS to support everything from controlling WMS and WCS
robot groups to optimizing overall logistics operations. By integrating open architecture with ERP and upper-level systems, we meet the operational requirements of each customer.
